Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Caratpillar uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. This page explains exactly what cookies we set and why.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They serve various purposes including remembering preferences, maintaining sessions, and tracking referrals for commercial purposes. Not all cookies require your consent — "strictly necessary" cookies that are essential for the site to function are exempt from consent requirements under GDPR.

Affiliate tracking cookies (set by third parties)

When you click a link to a retailer (Blue Nile, Whiteflash, etc.), the retailer's website may set a cookie on your device. This is how affiliate programs work — the cookie allows the retailer to identify that your visit originated from Caratpillar, so that if you make a purchase, we receive credit for the referral. These cookies are set by the retailer, not by Caratpillar, and are governed by each retailer's own cookie policy. They are only activated when you actively click a retailer link.

What we do NOT use cookies for

  • Advertising targeting or retargeting
  • Social media tracking (no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag)
  • Google Analytics or similar third-party analytics platforms
  • Cross-site tracking of your browsing behaviour
  • Profiling or automated decision-making

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that deleting or blocking the di_locale cookie will reset your language preference on each visit. Blocking third-party cookies will prevent affiliate tracking but will not affect your ability to visit retailer sites. For browser-specific instructions, visit: aboutcookies.org.

Changes to this policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if our cookie practices change. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
